How to cancel YouTube Music Premium, by biller
To cancel YouTube Music Premium, use the service that bills you: YouTube, Google Play or Apple. Check your membership details or receipt first, complete that biller's cancellation confirmation, and note when your paid benefits end.
Ordinary cancellation stops renewal; paid benefits continue until the billing period ends. It does not automatically refund the current billing period. See YouTube's cancellation instructions and refund policy.
Find who bills you
Start with your YouTube paid memberships. A Billed by Apple label means you must manage the subscription through Apple, according to YouTube's billing guidance.
For Google Play, check the subscription list in the Google Account used to purchase it. For Apple, your receipt identifies the purchasing Apple Account. If you cannot find an Apple receipt, Apple recommends checking your bank or card statement for the actual biller. Your phone's operating system alone does not tell you who bills you. Keep receipts and billing details private.
Follow the matching cancellation route
| Biller | Steps to stop renewal |
|---|---|
| YouTube directly | Open paid memberships, select Manage membership, then Deactivate → Continue to cancel. Choose a reason, select Next, then Yes, cancel. Official instructions. |
| Google Play | On the web, open Google Play's subscriptions while signed into the purchasing Google Account. Select the subscription, then Manage → Cancel subscription. Choose a reason and select Continue. Official Play instructions. |
| Apple | On iPhone, open Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Select the subscription and tap Cancel Subscription. Official Apple instructions. |
For an unwanted Apple free or discounted trial, Apple advises canceling at least 24 hours before the trial ends. That is Apple-specific guidance, not a universal deadline for every biller.
Check that cancellation finished
Before closing the page:
- Finish the confirmation steps, not just the first cancellation prompt.
- Note the displayed access-end date and keep the confirmation for your records.
- On Apple, no Cancel button or a red expiration message means it is already canceled, according to Apple's help page.
- If the subscription is missing, check the purchasing account and the matching official instructions above. Do not buy another subscription to troubleshoot.
Under ordinary cancellation, YouTube says benefits continue until the billing period ends. You do not need to delete your account to follow these cancellation steps.
Cancellation, refunds and saved music are different
Uninstalling the app does not cancel a Google Play subscription. Use the biller's cancellation controls rather than treating app removal or account deletion as confirmation.
A refund is a separate request, not a guaranteed result. YouTube's refund policy says unused time is not ordinarily refunded; if a refund is processed, Premium benefits end. Apple must authorize refunds for Apple purchases.
Offline music downloads are a Music Premium benefit. A subscription does not turn those downloads into owned audio files for transfer to another app. Do not expect continued offline music access after your paid benefits expire. Before deleting any account, preserve personal playlist references or records you want to keep using the options actually available in that service.
A different listening workflow, not a catalog replacement
Fair Music Browser saves supported web tracks for offline replay. It does not supply a licensed streaming catalog or transfer YouTube Music subscription downloads. If you need a subscription catalog, this is not an equivalent replacement.
The first 1,000 songs ever saved are free, followed by a one-time in-app unlock, not a subscription. Deleting songs frees storage but does not reset that lifetime allowance. DRM streams cannot be saved. Only save recordings you own or have permission to keep; supported-media compatibility and device storage also matter. See the product details and limits.

FAQ
Does uninstalling YouTube Music stop billing?
No. Complete cancellation through the service that bills you. Google Play explicitly states that uninstalling does not cancel a subscription.
Can I move my offline subscription music to Fair Music Browser?
No. Fair Music Browser does not transfer YouTube Music Premium downloads, and it cannot save DRM streams. It is for supported web recordings you have the right to keep, not access to a subscription catalog.
What if I subscribed through Apple but now use Android?
Follow the biller, not your current phone. Use Apple's subscription instructions above for an Apple-billed membership; check the Apple Account on your receipt if it is missing.
