Invoice2go alternative: simpler invoices without a subscription

Fair Invoice is an Invoice2go alternative for Android users who want estimates and PDF invoices without a recurring app subscription. It includes unlimited free estimates and the first 10 invoices free, then a one-time unlock, but has no card processing and is not a like-for-like replacement for Invoice2go's payment features. (Fair Invoice, Invoice2go pricing)

Choose the simpler workflow only if collecting payment separately and keeping payment records manually suits your business. If you need built-in card collection, or recurring invoices from an Invoice2go Premium plan, keep Invoice2go or look at another tool with those features before you switch. (Invoice2go plans)

This page compares those two options. It is not a ranking of every Invoice2go alternative. Fair Apps is not affiliated with Invoice2go. Product information was checked on November 3, 2026; check current purchase terms before paying.

The trade-off is payment handling, not just subscription cost. Invoice2go's pricing page lists 30 invoices a year on Starter, 100 on Professional, and unlimited invoices on Premium, with card-payment fees on each paid plan. Check that page for current fees and prices; none are quoted here. Fair Invoice's one-time unlock removes its invoice limit after 10 free invoices, but it still does not collect cards or create recurring invoices. (Invoice2go plans, Fair Invoice)

The pricing FAQ says a card is requested for the 30-day trial, and that subscription fees are not charged if you cancel within 30 days. The template page says no credit card is required. Those official lines conflict, so use the signup screen you see rather than either sentence alone. (Invoice2go plans, free templates)

Fair Invoice helps you prepare and share the document. You collect payment separately and keep that record yourself. Payment instructions, links or QR codes do not make it a card processor, and a payment provider you name can charge its own fees. It also has no automatic payment reconciliation, read receipts, server-sent emails or government e-invoicing. Optional user-cloud sync is not iPhone-Android sync or a payment service. Invoice2go's template page treats online payments, payment tracking, automatic reminders and accounting synchronization as software features, not template features. That comparison does not prove every paid plan includes each one. (Fair Invoice, US listing, free templates)

Switch in this order: archive, try, then cancel

1. Export records before changing your subscription

Invoice2go's “Export Company Data” help article documents this route in its web version:

  1. Select your company name.
  2. Open Account & settings, then Export data.
  3. Choose the category you want to preserve, such as invoices, estimates or clients.
  4. Select Export, then retrieve the download through the email provided.
  5. Repeat for other categories you need, and print or save copies of the actual invoices separately.

The export is compressed CSV data, not an archive of the original invoice documents. Exporting it does not automatically import anything into Fair Invoice. Find the instructions by searching Export Company Data in the official Help Center, under My Account > Account Details.

Open the files and inspect several records before proceeding. Check invoice numbers, clients, currency, line items, outstanding balances and payment notes against your saved documents. Keep this history as an archive rather than assuming it will transfer automatically. No automatic migration, attachment export or bulk PDF download is promised here.

2. Try one new invoice from creation to payment record

Before cancelling, use a sample rather than a live customer bill:

  1. Create an estimate or invoice with the fields your business needs.
  2. Review its PDF for line items, totals, dates and payment instructions.
  3. Share the PDF through your normal sharing or mail workflow.
  4. Decide how you will collect payment separately and record that it arrived.

Fair Invoice describes PDF sharing, email through your own mail app and estimate-to-invoice conversion on its product page. Run this sample before you cancel anything. It shows whether the simpler workflow fits; it does not promise that every Invoice2go field or delivery method will match.

3. Cancel through the company that bills you

Check your existing receipt or subscription record first. Use only the route matching your biller:

  • Direct Invoice2go billing: in the web interface, select your company name > Account & settings > Manage subscription > Update Payment Method > Cancel subscription, then complete the prompts. Search Managing your subscription in the Invoice2go Help Center, under My Account > Subscription Billing.
  • Apple billing: on iPhone, open Settings > your name > Subscriptions > the subscription > Cancel Subscription. Apple's instructions explain that no Cancel button or a red expiration message means it is already cancelled.
  • Google Play billing: on an Android device, go to subscriptions in Google Play, select the subscription, tap Cancel subscription and follow the instructions. On a computer, open Play subscriptions, choose Manage, then Cancel subscription, and follow the confirmation prompts. Use the Google Account that holds the subscription. Uninstalling the app does not cancel it. (Google's instructions)

Keep the confirmation and follow the expiration date displayed for your subscription. Cancellation, a refund request and account deletion are separate matters. Do not assume cancellation refunds a payment, deletes records or transfers anything to another app. (Invoice2go subscription help)

Frequently asked questions

Is Fair Invoice unlimited and free?

Estimates are unlimited and free. The free allowance is your first 10 invoices, not 10 a month, and the product page says those 10 include every feature. A one-time unlock removes the invoice limit. It is not a permanently unlimited-free app. The US Play listing says you can restore that unlock on a new phone with the same store account. That is not a cross-platform purchase, and nothing on the listing says deleting invoices resets the allowance. Check the in-app offer rather than assuming a price. (Fair Invoice, US listing)

Can Fair Invoice import my Invoice2go history?

Do not assume your Invoice2go history will transfer automatically. Preserve CSV exports and invoice copies as your archive, then evaluate Fair Invoice for future invoices. Exporting records does not itself migrate them. See Invoice2go's Export Company Data article in its official Help Center.

Does a payment QR code mean Fair Invoice processes cards?

No. Payment instructions or an external destination are not built-in card processing. Fair Invoice has no card processing or automatic payment reconciliation. (US listing)

What if I use an iPhone?

Fair Invoice's product page says the iPhone version is in App Store review as of the check date, so this recommendation is for Android. The US Play listing describes sync among iPhones and iPads, or among Android devices, not between iPhone and Android. A backup file moving data between platforms is not an Invoice2go import or an App Store install button. Do not assume a cross-platform purchase. (Product page, US listing)

Can I avoid paying for another app altogether?

If a manually edited document is enough, Invoice2go offers separate free Word, PDF and Excel invoice templates. Those templates are distinct from its subscription software and 30-day trial. The same page treats online payments, payment tracking, automatic reminders and recurring invoices as software features, not as features of the free downloads.

Try the simpler workflow before leaving

If Android estimates and shareable PDFs cover your needs, review Fair Invoice's features and limits, then get Fair Invoice on Google Play. Use the free allowance to check your workflow before cancelling an existing subscription.
