How to cancel your CamScanner subscription

Cancel CamScanner through the company that bills you: Apple, Google Play or the provider shown on your receipt. If the subscription is missing, check the account on the receipt before trying another route; cancellation is separate from requesting a refund or deleting your account.

Identify your biller first

Use your receipt to choose the route, rather than guessing from the phone you use now.

A missing subscription does not prove it is canceled. Apple and Google Play both recommend checking the account associated with the purchase.

Cancel an Apple-billed subscription

On iPhone, follow Apple's cancellation instructions:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap your name, then Subscriptions.
  3. Select the CamScanner subscription.
  4. Tap Cancel Subscription. Scroll down if necessary.

Apple says that if there is no Cancel button, or an expiration message appears in red, that subscription is already canceled. Check the status for the correct account, not just whether CamScanner appears on your phone.

For a free or discounted trial, Apple says to cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. This is Apple's guidance, not a verified deadline for every CamScanner billing arrangement.

If the subscription is missing, search your email for “receipt from Apple” or “invoice from Apple” and check the Apple Account shown. A family member must cancel their own subscription.

Cancel a Google Play subscription

On Android, follow Google Play's cancellation instructions:

  1. Sign into the Google Account holding the subscription.
  2. Open subscriptions in Google Play.
  3. Select CamScanner.
  4. Tap Cancel subscription and follow the instructions.

If you cannot find it, switch Google Accounts and check again. Uninstalling CamScanner does not cancel a Google Play subscription. Google says you can continue using a canceled subscription for the time you have already paid for; do not assume that rule describes a different biller's terms.

Another biller, or still no subscription?

If you cannot find an Apple receipt, Apple recommends checking your bank or card statement to identify the company billing you, then contacting that company. Use the contact route on your receipt or billing account rather than assuming there is a universal CamScanner cancel button.

Check receipts and statements privately. Do not send payment details to Fair Apps. Save the cancellation confirmation or expiry status for your own records.

Keep your documents before switching

Do not postpone an urgent cancellation while organizing a backup. Before uninstalling or deleting an account, save copies of important documents wherever your current app and account permit. Open the copies and check that all expected pages are present. Do not assume cancellation, a refund request and account deletion do the same thing.

Fictional example: The receipt says Google Play, so the next step is to check that account's subscriptions and cancel there. Documents to preserve are three project receipts and a two-page tenants' letter. Cancellation and copies are not yet confirmed; keep both tasks unchecked until verified. The replacement only needs PDF scanning, not OCR.

Optional: a scanner without a subscription

For future simple PDF scans, Fair Scanner offers the first 10 documents free, then a one-time in-app unlock, not a subscription. Deleting documents does not restore the free allowance. It has no OCR and does not offer searchable PDFs, signing, merging, folders or cloud sync, so it is not a like-for-like replacement for advanced workflows. Do not assume automatic migration of your CamScanner library.

FAQ

Does deleting the app cancel payment?

Do not use deletion as your cancellation step. Google explicitly says uninstalling does not cancel its subscriptions; use the appropriate biller's route above.

Does cancellation guarantee a refund?

No. Cancellation and refund requests are separate. Google says refunds may be available in some instances, not that cancellation automatically returns money.

What if I cannot find the subscription?

Match the receipt to the billing account first. Check other Apple or Google Accounts, then identify any different biller from your statement and contact that company.
